Like others, we made an appointment to produce certified copies, and upon arriving at his office, we were told that he didn't work there, and worked from home. At no point in arranging our appointment did he tell us this. He is totally unprofessional, and a time waster, avoid at all costs. How he stays in business doing something that should only be executed on by a reputable person, is quite simply unbelievable. Would give zero stars if I could.

He let us down badly. My son booked an appointment to see him a week ago to certify his signature on a POA and when he arrived on time at the office Stephen Gisby was not there and the secretary/receptionist didn't seem to know anything about it. We had to rush round and organise an alternative at short notice.
When he is so unprofessional I don't know how he stays in business.
We should have read the earlier reviews here where others have had a similar experience.
Avoid.

I had to get signed in almost 10 documents including 2 POA and few identification proofs, as I couldn't get to his office on weekdays he asked me to come to his home on weekend. After calling and confirming that he'll be available, I reached his home and got all my documents signed within 30 mins. Very sweet person, didn't find any problem with him. Extremely cost efficient.

2 wasted trips. I am not impressed. 1st visit made to house Stephen didn't Steven did not have ink to do the job. We arranged to return a week later. Upon arriving my call was ignored along with my email yet Mr. Gisby was at his desk. We will now source a reliable solicitor. Complete waste of time. If you don't want the work just say no. Don't waste people's time arranging appointments and not showing up!

Poor. Needed a notorised letter that then had to go to the foreign office. Paid £95 for a letter that would take "2-3 weeks". 7 weeks later and numerous ignored emails and calls and finally it's found at his London office. It's then posted to me not tracked and with the incorrect address (despite the letter itself having the right address on it). Thankfully, the postie knows us. Wouldn't recommend.

Stephen is a busy Solicitor and many people require his time and knowledge as people were waiting to see him after my appointment. After I made a couple of calls, he arranged to see me quite quickly and dealt with the paperwork swiftly for a signature certification/Notary Public that I was required to submit for postgraduate University study. Great price, super polite and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you so much, Stephen.

Stephen Gisby quoted £60 for notarisation, one of the cheapest in Bristol. Andrew Caplen also notarises for £60. Send in directly for apostille if needed for £30. There aren't many notaries and they charge what they want.
