Not even worth the 1 star. Had stevens solicitors as legal aid when arrested as I didn't know any solicitors and had to have what the police recommended(first time being arrested for telling the truth). Seems like they work with the police. Didn't like her attitude from the moment I saw her. Would advise anyone not to use. Sent multiple emails to ask questions to get no response. Ended up getting my own solicitors

Was recommended stevens by a friend to represent my partner had 2 years and 10 months of rearranged court dates and 2 different barristers, no fight for my partner whatsoever, if anything it was the barristers mistake of words that has now landed him.a custodial sentence! Been chasing advice on appeal for nearly 2 weeks and no one wants to answer the phone to me they pass messages back through reception, requested information on the barristers and his Chambers and was interrogated into why I wanted these! Still no phone call this morning still passing messages through receptionists, my partner rang from prison to be told they no nothing about him, still no appeal advice AVOID at all costs absolutely shocking no empathy no customer.service wouldn't even waste your time

First time I've needed legal representation & i chose possibly the worst solicitors ever. I have had multiple people, pay for one person and another shows up in court with no warning. No fight for you…. Ive had a paralegal say she will re write a document and turned up in court and it wasn’t done this morning…
Rang for 3 months since my last court hearing and still no one got back in touch.
No emails no calls no correspondence at all.

I paid these people £1800 after I could prove police lied and manipulated crime scene 4 years ago, and still they say they do not know if there are grounds for appeal! I have applied for one of their solicitors to be struck off!

I went to court, James Hulse defended me, he compiled a defence for my case, and guided me to a successful ending.
I can't speak highly enough about James, he is absolutely brilliant.

I would recommend him to anyone, and I would not hesitate to use him again in the future.
