I have just had a call from Darren after requesting some general guidance on my pension options and financial situation. Darren was extremely helpful and explained everything to me in a manner everyone will be able to understand. Darren advised me at this point I’m doing everything correctly. We are approaching retirement and wanted to run our position past a financial advisor, and from a list on Unbiased chose Darren. He promptly arranged a preliminary phone call to assess our needs. Darren made the call exactly to the scheduled time and listened carefully whilst I gave him an overview. After some consideration he explains that as much as he would have liked to take us on, we were doing all that could be done in the approach to retirement. Darren went on to say the further chargeable time would not result in any appreciable gain for us and would be a waste of money. My life insurance policy had expired and I needed to look for a new policy.
Darren discussed all of the 3 insurances I could take out very clearly and then gave me to time to process the information and discuss it with my husband. He took the time to explain how each one would benefit me and I decided to ask for an amount of cover in each of them, rather than just the life cover.
Darren put together a comprehensive illustration of the 3 insurances, which we further tweaked to make it completely suitable for my current requirements. He then supported me within a meeting to complete the questionnaire.
The process was very straight forward and Darren was professional and easy to work with. There wasn't anything he could have done better. I would definitely recommend his services.

Darren first became my financial advisor about 5 years ago, after my original advisor retired.
I had known my previous advisor for a long time and was rather uncertain about this change, as we had formed a good working relationship and I am not one for change !
Having said all this, on first meeting Darren, I was very impressed with how professional he was, while also being very friendly.
He most definitely knew what he was talking about, he was in fact very knowledgeable about investments and pensions.
He took over my portfolio , and changed it to a much better investment.
He moved money from my bank accounts to even better investments.
He changed my husbands pension to a much better one.
