Please do not use this service. I was told 10 working days so have posted docs and now was told 25 days plus postage time. They are extremely busy and if you need your document fast please use a Third party provider. This is what I am doing now. Had to cancel their service.

Avoid! Better pay extra and get your appsotille from private companies! On gov website it says 15 working days. It’s been a month! No tracking, no reference number, nothing. Why would you even charge for such a service?that would make sense if it’s free of charge… Ridiculous!

I sent a birth certificate more than a month ago. Haven’t heard anything since. Don’t even know if it’s in process or what. It must be a better tracking system for a government organization , at least some sort of acknowledgement of the receipt and notification of a status for clients. It’s very bad customer service . Very disappointed .

RUBBISH!!! I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by this office. I sent some documents for legalization a month ago and have not received anything back yet. This delay is jeopardizing my entire process because the other documents have expiration dates. The website states that processing takes 2 weeks, but it has been a month since I sent the documents, and I have still received nothing.
Go for a private company instead

I sent my marriage certificate a month ago, heard nothing since. Phoned and was told “we can’t give information on specific cases” (even though they gave me reference number -why, if they can’t use it?). So I emailed “We try to answer emails within two weeks, although it may be longer”. So I gave up and used a (expensive) third party company, for whom they provide a same-day service!

I was worried about all the negative comments. I sent the birth certificate on Wednesday, the 7th of Feb, and i received it today - 10th. First class both ways.
I am very happy with the service. 5☆

The Legalisation Office was able to legalise my documents in a fair time frame, it was a little bit longer than the expected 10 days but when I raised my concerns about it taking longer than advised it was processed and sent the same day.

The issue I have is with the delivery service they used, on request they asked for the documents to be sent via Royal Mail and I would then have to pay for return delivery (Fair enough). However, on delivery, I was informed that the delivery service was through DX Delivery.

3 Days in a row, DX Delivery failed to deliver my documents. Just be aware that on the delivery back it might be better to provide your prepaid return label.

Bad experience. Sent in my son's birth certificate to be legalised to them through special delivery guaranteed by 1pm next day and which they received the very next day. I was hoping I'd get a notification or some sort if they were going to process it but more than 3 weeks after still did not hear from them. If I didn't try to chase it up more than 3 weeks after, only then I had someone tell me it will be looked at after a further few more days then they will send it back to me. Now, still waiting for the document to arrive. Poor service overall.
