Came for Sunday dinner wouldnt waste my money again won’t be coming back. Food was inedible. Beef was advertise pink came well done staff couldn’t tell difference between beef and pork. Never been anywhere where staff don’t know where food was going food was cold. Toilets dirty paid extra for some gravy for my dinner as it didn’t come with any. Over priced and better food else where within the area. AVOID and save money staff are unfriendly and unapproachable. Also didn’t seem to care about the service they offer

We decided to pop in for some food as we hadn't been since it had reopened.

Oh dear, the place was in chaos! We should have taken the hint and went elsewhere. One girl was trying to get a refund for a burger she had been served that wasn't the one ordered...

We ordered two parmos and two soft drinks and were told food was taking around 30 minutes but we decided to wait as we wanted to give it a try - the cost was nearly £40!

The chaos continued with a constant stream of "sorry" from the bar staff. We watched three of the staff walk past tables full of dirty dishes and nobody really having any idea who should be doing what.

Our food turned up and then when I asked for cutlery I was told it was at the end of the bar... Nope, only spoons. The chap then asked another member of staff to get some cutlery only for him to say after a few minutes it would quicker if he went himself. He did eventually turn up with the cutlery and apologised again and said if the food wasn't warm enough he would sort it... We just ate it as couldn't bear to wait any longer.

The staff are really nice and pleasant, they just need to sort out who does what and keep on top of the dirty dishes and clean cutlery if you are going to serve food.

We also felt it was over priced for the very bland meal we got served, there is definitely better value elsewhere.

We will give it another go, but maybe in a few weeks when the holiday rush is over...

We visited for Sunday lunch. We even booked ahead. Straightforward order: 1 gammon. One chicken.
However, we still had to wait 50 minutes for our food.
On arrival, we were informed that they had run out of beef. Not a good start. The "roast potatoes" were out of a tin. The (red) cabbage was hard and uncooked. Gammon was fatty and chewy. No stuffing. One piece of broccoli and two half-carrots, plus a bit of "cauliflower cheese".
The food arrived without gravy.
The bar staff did their best, no problem there, but there was no communication with the kitchen. No table numbers on the tables. No table numbers with the orders.
Hence the bar staff running around trying to work out which order went where.
Other customers were complaining about similar issues, it wasn't just us.
Fortunately, no-one asked us if the food was ok..
We will not be back.

We had a great meal here, good choice of extras on the parmo menu,

Staff were very nice and friendly,

we didn't stay in a room, just food and drink

The parmo was very tasty.

Dog and family friendly, parking is around the back and the pub is very accessible.

We came for Sunday lunch.

Firstly, we'd booked but no table had been prepared. This wasn't an issue as it was very quiet but it was just the start of a long chain of shambles.

The table wasn't the cleanest and we were given one scruffy piece of paper full of gravy stains with the food options on. This seemed to be the one menu shared around the pub. Not the best first impressions.

We ordered 3 standard roasts. Food took 50 minutes to arrive. This was the same for the people around us. None of the staff apologised or checked in with the guests. They opted to just stay behind the bar and watch.

When the food did arrive, the barman practically chucked them onto the table saying that the plates were so hot to carry (use a cloth next time). The plates were microwave hot to his credit.
Meat was fatty, tough and dry. Veg was nuked and tasteless. Red cabbage was hard. Yorkies tasted burnt and the gravy was just pathetic - practically solid, not been mixed properly at all, pure gloop.

I felt embarassed for them. Again, no one checked on us. A table beside us collared the barman to complain but he clearly wasn't trained to cope with that.
I did spot a gent in a suit on the bar just talking but if this was managment then shame on him as his employees were simply left to the wolves.

Terrible value for money, terrible atmosphere and terrible service.

Christmas Eve. Half the beer was off (no Guinness, no Neck Oil). Rude male staff member (threw beer mat onto our table). A gang of lads openly doing drugs in the toilets. Grim.

Bed sheets smelled of damp. Room very cold. Dirty floor boards no carpet. Side panel on bath hanging off. Breakfast should have been included. Chefs had walked out was told breakfast would be deducted. It was not . Booking .com. Contacted them several times in the end booking.com refunded me. |Was huge mistake booking. Have never stayed at a worse building than this.
