I attended a fabulous carrying workshop with Zoe in February, along with a group of other doulas. It was very informative and great to be able to try out new slings and positions in a friendly safe environment. As a postnatal doula I carry babies daily during my support sessions with families so it's always good to keep up to date with my carrying skills and the different slings and holds available. Really great session! Babywearing can feel like a minefield so this was a brilliant session to understand about many of the different kinds of slings/carriers, how they benefit babies/parents, and all about safety in baby wearing too. I was lucky enough to get a place on one of Zoe's courses on the science of infant development earlier this year. As a straight up birth and parenting nerd, I found it absolutely fascinating delving deep into the research, evidence, history and evolution of baby wearing. I was quite newly postpartum when I attended the course, and while I may not have retained many of the facts and figures due to baby brain, I really think that the knowledge I gained has influenced how much I have carried my second baby, and definitely fuelled my (already considerable) enthusiasm for carrying and skin-to-skin.
