Just had an amazing lunch at the Stanwick hotel. Been craving a nice prawn sandwich for ages. The bread was fresh, plenty of prawns with a lovely marie rose sauce. It also came with a portion of chips and salad. All for just £8.95 amazing value. The staff are all very pleasant too. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.

The Stanwick Hotel is in a rural location, but within a 15 minute drive of nearby towns and villages with food options if these are needed. The hotel had ample parking.|Despite it being winter, I enjoyed having the grounds of the hotel to walk around after my journey. |The hotel has a number of chalet type rooms outside the main building, side by side. The entrance was at ground level direct into the room, which I liked. I was able to walk straight out to my car on leaving the room. Only a few rooms appeared to be occupied during my stay, so it was quiet.|My only issue with the room was that the key handle/lock appeared rather stiff, and some force needed to be used to raise the handle in order to lock it. |The bed was comfortable, the heating worked well and the shower was nice and hot. |Breakfast was ordered from a menu, with some self-serve items. |Regards staff, an older gentlemen behind the bar wore an elf outfit (it was a week before Christmas), a gardener was maintaining flower beds (in winter), and reception staff were chatty and friendly. I thought all of these were nice touches and showed that care was taken to maintain the hotel and give customers a good experience.|Good value for the price. I would stay again.

My wife took an impromptu wander down to the Stanwick Hotel for Wacky Wednesday and had a lovely evening. There was a great atmosphere in the bar area, enhanced by a good number of people dining in the restaurant. |The legendary Phil provided his cordial service behind the bar, and the restaurant staff were excellent, notably Anna who looked after us very well once we were seated at a table. |Whilst we were not intending to dine, Anna was happy to let us have a look at the current dinner menu which is more extensive than we remembered from our last visit, and at very reasonable prices.|We mentioned to Anna that we had seen reference online to Tapas Thursday and asked her what that entailed. Anna let us know that there is currently a Tapas special comprising a sharing platter of cold meats, stuffed tomatoes, olives, salad and bread with balsamic and oil at £12. Having not planned to eat, we decided to order this and were not disappointed – it was delicious, particularly the tomatoes and olives which were outstanding. This led us to having a couple more glasses of wine than we originally expected, but at £4 a glass it was well worth it! The Wacky Wednesday offer applied to the house wine only, but this was a very nice Merlot which went down very well with the Tapas platter.|All in all, a very enjoyable evening with great value drinks and excellent food was topped off with friendly and attentive service from the lovely Anna and her colleagues.

We came to this hotel today to celebrate our mother’s 99th birthday. From the very start, staff did everything they could to make this a fabulous occasion. Food was great and good value. We were so impressed, we made a provisional booking for her 100th next year 🥳

So we’re do we start… my wife and I had an amazing experience at the stanwick hotel. Everything went like clock work from start to end. The grounds are fantastic well looked after and great for photo and video opportunities. The food is well presented and tasted brilliant (well done chef Josh and kitchen team). The stay before and after was great, plenty of room and spotlessly clean. The organisation were faultless and on time (well done Marie) the stanwick hotel is the place to be to have your wedding day. 19th wedding anniversary dinner with my husband. What a beautiful restaurant, really lovely. The food was delicious and the Christmas cocktails slipped down very nicely too. The staff were delightful and we can't wait to go back again soon.

Very nice place to go for a meal or drinks. Recently held a 90th party here and the food was very good and the staff were so helpful and attentive. Would recommend to all.

Sad to say, I am really disappointed for the second time, thus feel compelled to comment. Booked for today at 14:00, long in advance, paid £325 for a Sunday lunch 8 adults 2 infants, my 66 birthday. We were placed in the function room, felt completely isolated from the main bar and restaurant ambiance. No sooner arriving we were asked to sit down quickly and place orders for food. Plates after main course not cleared, didn’t get asked if we want a desert, and had to go get drinks from the bar ourselves. So headline is; all very rushed, end of shift syndrome, felt to be a nuisance rather than a customer. If 14:00 sittings are a problem, the hotel would be better off not taking them. Won’t book again or recommend. Sorry.
