I only dealt with one individual engineer so my observations relate to that one person rather than the company as an entity. I signed a contract with Thomas Consulting to deliver a domestic project, they were more expensive than others that I enquired with, but, after some research and due diligence, I decided that I was more comfortable paying the higher fee for the piece of mind that you get by tasking an established company that holds contracts with the nuclear industry.

I was wrong, very wrong.

After almost two years of indecision and prevarication by their engineer, I find myself where my home is in a complete mess and the project has been cancelled; to makes matters worse, the integrity of the individual is, at best, dubious. I am now several thousand pounds out of pocket because of flawed decision making and I have been living on a building site for many, many months. The company are aware of my situation, and, although the finance director has been professional to deal with, they have not offered to make good the losses incurred directly as a result of their employees incompetent decision making.

I may have been unfortunate, and to add balance, I assume that there must be other structural engineers employed by Thomas Consulting who are competent, professional and honest. I also assume that other customers have had better experiences with this company and I was just unlucky.
