On this visit to Thornbury Hospital, from start to finish it was a lovely pleasant experience. The reception staff member, nurses, anaesthetist and his staff, and Doctor/Consultant/Surgeon were all wonderful. And I was really looked after and treat well. And the surgery was an excellent success. Shame catering forgot the chocolate ice-cream I ordered though. 😉 Thank you for everything. You also get a free cardboard party hat on each visit, which was a nice touch. I think I might wear that at Glastonbury Festival when I next go.

The hospital stay was very good. It’s never a happy experience when facing major surgery, it’s a worrying time. Thornbury ensured the experience was as comfortable and reassuring as possible. The staff team are excellent and attentive meeting my needs effectively. My stay was comfortable in a clean room, the privacy is important to me and the food very pleasant with a good choice of healthy options.

I recently underwent surgery for a Umbilical Hernia repair at Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield performed by the skillful Professor Steven Brown ably assisted by his anaesthetist Dr. Patrick "Paddy" Dobbs.
The treatment I received from the initial consultation to having the operation was nothing more than 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I stayed overnight and the aftercare was impeccable, professional and friendly.
My overall experience at the Thornbury Hospital was fantastic, every bit of my anxiety was laid to rest by Mr Brown and his team.

I had an excellent experience at Thornbury where I had a full knee replacement in November 2024. All went extremely well and staff and surgical team were all excellent with good communication. I would particularly like to single out physiotherapist Alison whom I saw as an out patient for post operative care. She was lovely, inspiring and encouraging and made a major contribution to the success of my recovery. Thank you!

I have to say I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care I’ve received during my breast cancer treatment, here. Dr. Claire has been amazing - despite having many patients, she always makes me feel like I have her full attention.

I had an amazing experience at Thornbury hospital! Absolutely every member of staff who dealt with me went above and beyond to make me comfortable and help me. My friends joked to treat my operation like a little holiday but I honestly felt like I was being cared for in a 5 star hotel. This is how you should be cared for when you are at your worst! If they had told me I needed to stay in another night I wouldn’t have minded. My room was lovely, the food was gorgeous and the best part was the staff couldn’t have done anymore for you!

I would like to say thank you to all the staff on the mappin suite, physio team and the surgical team for taking care of me before and after my operation. The staff are so friendly. The anaesthetist and his team really put me at ease and took the time to listen to my fears. The hospital is immaculate and rooms very comfortable. The catering staff were excellent too and kept me supplied with drinks and the food, I was permitted, very nice. 😁😁
