I was dealing with the sale and purchase of property's on behalf of my 80 year old mother. She chose Tickle Hall Cross as it was the company she and my late father had always used. Once we we had started the process I quickly realised I should have read the reviews online, if I had then I would have gone to another solicitors. I hadn't realised that I would have to do most of the paperwork myself and online, we never actually saw a solicitor . If I hadn't been able to deal with this for my mother then she would never have been able to do this. I think that this should be explained at the start of engagement. As it was the process for what should have been quick due to cash buyers dragged on for nearly 6 months. There was very little communication unless I rang or emailed to chase for information. I got one email direct from the solicitor to which I waited over a month for a reply , which never came. On ringing to find out why it turns out the solicitor had left the company. Yet no one had bothered to inform me. My mum came within days of losing the property she wanted, not to mention all the money involved. The only saving grace in all of this was Amanda Littler, who deserves 5 stars . Having been back to the solicitors to take Amanda a small gift and thank you card, I was informed that she too had now left the company. So if you are looking to buy or sell I wouldn't recommend using Tickle Hall Cross. I hope your Thank you card and chocolates found their way to you Amanda .

Due to their inability to do the bare minimum during the conveyancing process they cost me the sale of my property. Of course they denied this but then the estate agent copied me into an email exchange between my (former) buyer and their conveyancer which proved it.
Avoid these jokers at all costs, they are condescending, inept fools who care only about their bottom line and not a damn about their clients.

Used Tickle Hall to purchase my property which completed in November 2022. Forward to May 23, I receive a cheque from them out of the blue stating my account had been in credit. Forward again to 2024.. over a year later they are now requesting this refund back. I’m currently under financial strain due to the current climate and being a single household. Do not trust what is wrote on your completion statement as highly likely to be incorrect! Amount requested back didn’t add up to the amount the refund was as they had left another item of the completion statement and was only told this when I questioned the amount! Their mistake and now I’m under the stress of finding the funds to rectify this!

Was recommended their services from an estate agent. Was not told that I would be charged for this recommendation. First email of charges had no mention of this fee. Fee was added on to final bill.
First email from solicitor details how to contact them and who to contact. For the first 3 months I had no replies to emails nor does anyone answer the phone. You never know if anyone is going to action anything you request or if they had received your email. I had to start badgering them before anyone gets back to me. The secretary was always off sick or on holiday. Just never there.

They sent me a satisfaction questionnaire post completion. I laughed when I opened it. Went straight in the bin

Fantastic customer service throughout the whole process. There was a big delay in the sale of our house (no fault of Tickle Hall Cross) subsequently this delay caused us to loose our initial reservation on a new build estate which caused us a huge amount of stress but Linda and Lisa where very kind and understanding. Would highly recommend this firm.

Rude and dismissive staff who omitted key information. Dont have a grasp on what customer sevice is and the complaints process only seeks to admonish the complainant. Would not take any responsibility for their actions which cost our family dearly. AVOID!

Was extremely disappointed with the service I received at THC.

Whilst the house sale we used them for went ahead largely without issue, the communication I received as a client was virtually non existent.

I was unable to raise my designated solicitor for 2 weeks prior to the exchange/completion, who had their phone off for the entire duration and unresponsive to emails. The individual specified on voicemail for a redirect also appeared to be away for the entire time.

This carried on up to the exchange/completion, which caused unnecessary delay and frustration to the other end of the chain in getting the house sale done in a timely manner. I wasn't even informed the completion had been done until the following day, after having to chase it myself!

Won't be using them again.

I used them to move house because 20 years ago, we used them to buy the house in the first place. Whilst I didn't expect them to remember us, I did expect them to still hold some basic information on us.

Now to be fair, the move went through and they reassured me about various mortgage delays (hence 3 stars, not 1), so they did their job. But they were quite sloppy. On most of the initial paperwork, they got our postcode and post town wrong (so just the house number and street were right). We had to correct them several times before they got the hang of our address. The correct address is quite important for a solicitor to get right on a house move don't you think.

They charged my £6 when I asked for a copy of something I sent them. They didn't tell me there would be a charge.

We only asked them to sort out 1 thing for us at our new house. We made 1 specific request (it was to have some planters). When we moved in, the planters were still there, stopping us parking. We contacted the previous owner and estate agent and the owners solicitor, all of which said that they'd had no corrospondance from ours about it. We asked THC who dodged the question. We ended up having to pay to have them removed and again when I asked THC "who is going to reimburse me for this?", I got no answer.

So I wouldn't use them again.
