If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Wilson Browne Solicitors especially Vicki Pearce, has been disappointing, marked by a lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

1. Abuse of an Elderly Client: Wilson Browne was appointed as deputy to "protect" my elderly mother, yet they restricted her access to her own money, causing unnecessary hardship. When she had a further capacity assessment evidencing that she neither needed or wanted a Deputy and challenged this in court , WB challenged her wasting her own money further and causing her financial and psychological damage . Worse, they forced her to be harassed (undergo capacity assessments) while she was seriously ill in hospital. This neglect of her well-being and autonomy shows a disturbing lack of compassion and duty to a vulnerable person. The Deputy (Vicki Pearce) failed to comply with the rules of conduct which she is legally expected to

2. Conflict of Interest & Bias: Wilson Browne represented both my deceased mother and another party with conflicting interests in my mother’s estate, failing to maintain impartiality. Despite requests, after my mother’s early death I was denied access to estate information shared with the other party, which placed me at an unfair disadvantage and revealed a clear bias.

3. Data Protection Concerns: Despite their claims to follow strict data protection protocols, Wilson Browne disregarded my privacy by sharing information from my private meetings, with the other party. This breach of confidentiality is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on their ethical standards.

4. Failure to Provide Essential Information: As a potential beneficiary, I repeatedly requested transparency on estate income and value. Vicki Pearce ignored these requests, preventing me from making informed decisions and progressing with the estate. This lack of transparency feels intentionally obstructive.

5. Avoidance of Face-to-Face Meetings: I requested in-person meetings to discuss the estate fairly and productively, yet Wilson Browne repeatedly denied these requests, choosing evasive communication instead. This avoidance has unnecessarily stalled the estate administration and made it more contentious. During the Deputyship Vicki Pearce failed to meet with my mother and act upon her wishes on numerous occasions, damaging her autonomy & psychological well being as well as her estate.

6. Dismissal of Discrimination Concerns: Throughout this process, I raised valid concerns about discrimination affecting my family. Instead of addressing these issues professionally, Wilson Browne outright dismissed them, failing to show accountability or even a basic acknowledgment of the seriousness of discrimination.

7. Unjustified Fees: Wilson Browne issued multiple invoices without adequately explaining their charges. They have provided little to no transparency on these costs, leaving me with unanswered questions and substantial unpaid fees that appear baseless.

Overall, Wilson Browne’s actions have been obstructive, biased, and lacking in the ethical standards expected of a legal firm. Their unprofessionalism has added stress and frustration to an already challenging Deputyship and subsequent probate process. If you are considering them for legal services, I strongly advise you to document every interaction carefully and seek alternative representation to avoid the mistreatment and frustration I have experienced.

Had our Wills rewritten and Legal Power of Attorneys put in place for myself and wife. Shakira at Northampton branch dealt with our needs and responded to emails in a very prompt manner. Maybe not the cheapest but maybe also not the dearest. You are made aware of the costs beforehand, so the choice is always yours. We were very happy with the service we received.

What should have been a simple probate case turned out to be rather farcical. I dealt with three different "fee earners" and three different offices. This resulted in numerous mistakes and unnecessary delays - all perfectly avoidable if they were better organised. I did not receive a proper itemised bill and I am sure I paid for work that had been duplicated.
True to form, there was a delay in responding to my formal complaint and the issues I raised were not properly addressed. The firm's complaints procedure is not as robust as they claim.
I received an estimate for conveyancing and it was double the price of other providers.
I would not recommend.

UPDATE: Following Wilson Browne's response. Perhaps someone at Wilson Browne would like to give further detail about what they consider to be not accurate about my review.
To quote the Legal Ombudsman's findings as proof that they have been vindicated is ridiculous. With a staggeringly low Trustpilot score of just 1.2 the Legal Ombudsman has no credibility at all but even they concluded that the matter could have been completed sooner. Wilson Browne's claim that "matters were handled in a timely fashion" is not true.

At a time when I needed good honest advice, Wilson Browne staff delivered it with transparency and integrity. All staff were very helpful and appeared to fully understand the predicament that I was in and showed compassion in their messages via email. I will use them again.

We used this firm to undertake commercial conveyancing. Searches were forwarded across promptly. However, it quickly became clear that communication was somewhat lapsing, taking days for a response back which jeopardised the transaction.

When questioned, our contract with them was terminated by them with only two weeks to completion. Despite professionally and politely requesting them to reconsider their position, they refused to complete the contract on the basis that we lost confidence in them which we never said.

This firm will always charge significantly cheaper than other firms but be aware that you get what you pay for and this couldn’t be more evident in our case.

Fortunately, we found another firm that could deliver. I hope to never come across this firm again. Stay well away.
